Kamae Borstal Institution is the first female teenage correctional facility in Kenya. Having successfully run the Hadassah Mentorship Program there, we were able to graduate 20 girls aged between 15-17 years at a graduation ceremony held on 6th September 2017. Together with the graduation, we held a fashion show where the girl with the most improved attitude and behavior was crowned as Miss Kamae 2017.
The guest of honor was Miss Juliet Kola of Ministry of East African Community, Labour and Social Protection.
The event was proudly sponsored by Pearls & Treasures Trust, Kenya Prisons Service, Amo la Moda Kenya, the 3 stylists, Transform Communities Initiative, Fahim for U, Queens and Kings Hair and Beauty College, makeup by Rose, B sounds entertainment, Dgohnie Empire, Showbiz Productions, Emma Daniel Creations, Tabasamu na Kichuna, Maryanne & Christabel, Flame Tree brands, Jaymo yule Msee Brand, Chapati Forum, Focus Tv and Qwetu radio.
